NATHAN MARSHALL |
BIOGRAPHY AND APPEARANCE Nate has bright blonde hair. It is relatively long, and sticks out from his head somewhat awkwardly. He struggles to make it cooperate, so he generally just lets it run wild. He has sky blue eyes. He is 5 feet and 10 inches tall, and weighs about 157 pounds. He tends to wear clothing that is flashy and noticeable, and in combination with his bright hair and somewhat wild personality, it is very easy to spot him in a crowd. He has no qualms with wearing bright colors, but will often wear more neutral colors instead. He likes to be the center of attention, and he dresses like it. One outfit that he often wears is a white, long sleeved button shirt, and a bright orange-ish brown vest with a high collar. He generally wears pretty normal looking pants, whether they be black, tan, or jeans. He has a variety of shoes that he wears, from tennis shoes to boots, and he often wears gloves just because he thinks they look cool. He almost always wears the same necklace, a tight, lime green band with a gold colored pendant that was a gift from his mom. He has rather good posture, but slouches when he is sleepy. He doesn’t sleep as much as he should, and will sometimes be seen with noticeable bags under his eyes, and he will have a tendency for yawning frequently. ~ Unlike many young trainers and coordinators that find their way to the four islands, Nathan was born on Bahari Island. His father and mother had both been trainers before they met. After spending several years wandering the islands, raising their pokemon to be stronger, the pair decided to settle down in the quiet town of Drizzle Village. Their journey had finally ended, and they decided to start a family. Next came Nathan. He was a wild child, often finding himself in trouble. He would run around and never seemed to get tired. He would often play with his father's Scyther, chasing her around the house. The two made messes weekly, knocking over vases, running into walls, toppling over chairs. Nate's parents were not the type to punish their child too much, and since his shenanigans happened so frequently, his mom and dad generally just made him clean up the messes. Once Nate got older, he calmed down slightly. He grew out of running recklessly through his house, and started to prefer exploring to making messes. He started to spend more time with his mother's Manectric instead of his father's Scyther due to the bug pokemon frequently getting Nate into trouble. Whenever Scyther broke something, Nate's parents assumed Nate had broken it due to his crazy past. Nate didn't mind too much, but he started to prefer Manectric's adventurous spirit to Scyther's mischievousness. The only problem with exploring was that the only places Nate could explore were almost always really cold. The caverns were hardly the most comfortable place to be in, and the shore was almost always freezing. Nate wanted sunshine and warmth, but Bahari Island was rainy, snowy, and almost always overcast. When he was 17, he begged his parents to let him move out of Bahari Island. He wanted to live somewhere warm, somewhere that he could meet new people. Drizzle Village was so small, and he felt as though he had met all of the people that he could there. He wanted new experiences, to live somewhere warm, and to be surrounded by trees. Crescent City was his dream home. His parents were reluctant to let him go. They made him wait, but he managed to convince them after another year of asking. When Nate was 18, he packed his things and left for Crescent City. Once he arrived, he rented out an apartment and moved in. He loved it there. Passing trainers allowed him to meet plenty of new people, and the forested areas around him allowed him the chance to explore under the trees. Despite this, he felt lonely. He had grown up not only with his loving parents, but surrounded by pokemon. His parent's pokemon had always been his playmates, exploring partners, and cuddly things to hold when he was upset. He realized that he would never be satisfied until he had pokemon of his own. He would have to become a trainer. It took a pretty long time for him to find a pokemon to take with him. He tried the adoption center, but nothing stood out to him. He wanted something that suited him well, something that he would love. He bought a few pokeballs with the money he made working at a small coffee shop, but he couldn't seem to catch anything. After attempting to catch one too many pokemon, he went home with disappointment. When he got back to his apartment, he attempted to flick on the lights only to realize that they were not working. He searched for the reason, annoyed that he had such bad luck that day. It took a good amount of searching, but he eventually found the source of the problem. A Joltik was munching on the light's cord, sucking the electricity out of it hungrily. Nate tried to remove it, but it lightly shocked him every time he tried to touch it. He realized that there was only one way to make it get off of the cord. He only had one pokeball left, but he should at least try. He tapped the tiny pokemon with the pokeball, and the Joltik disappeared into the pokeball with a flash of red light. It didn't leave. Although Nate caught the electric pokemon only in an attempt to remove it from his electric wiring, he was tired of searching for a pokemon. He would raise this pokemon the best he could. | SPECIALTY trainer AGE 21 GENDER male ISLAND mitaro TYPE electric STARTER joltik PLAYED BY owl |
