Battles, Evolution, and experience
BATTLES
Trainer battles will be monitored by a moderator, but, otherwise, how things turn out is up to you and the other roleplayer. Please title all threads that contain a battle with a in the title so we know which threads to check on. Each post a pokemon can use a maximum of two moves; one being a status move (leer, growl, lucky chant, etc.) and one being a damaging move (tackle, headbutt, absorb, etc.) The winner will be basically chosen by the two roleplayers unless the battle is deemed unfair by a staff member. If that is the case, the staff member will talk to you and the player to see if you both thought it was a fair battle.
WILD ENCOUNTERS will work a little bit differently. ES staff members and special chosen pokehelpers will play the pokemon in this kind of thread. The randomly rolled pokemon will be posted by a staff member, and then either pokehelpers or staff members will come to play said pokemon. Again, each pokemon can use a maximum of two moves each post. When the staff member or pokehelper says the pokemon is weak, you have the choice to throw a pokeball or knock it out and get a level.
If a staff member has not responded to your thread in 3 days, you can pm them and ask politely if they can post. If they do not post in 7 days, you can choose to KO or catch the pokemon. If you do not respond in 5 days, the pokemon will flee. Additionally, you can only have 1 wild pokemon thread per character at a time. Once a wild thread is finished, you have to wait 5 days before you can make a new one. So take advantage of them when you make them!
EXPERIENCE
We don't really have experience here, we just use the level system to make your pokemon stronger. By this I mean that each battle will have a set amount of levels you can get from it.
IN A TRAINER BATTLE, both winners and losers will gain levels. A pokemon that faints will gain 1 level, while a pokemon that defeats another pokemon will receive 3. If a pokemon defeats a second pokemon, it will get 2 levels, and then 1. Remember that defeating two pokemon with the same one is very difficult to do.
EX: A trainer sends out poke 1, other trainer sends out poke 2. Poke 1 defeats poke 2. The other trainer then sends out poke 3. Poke 3 defeats poke 1. The first trainer sends out poke 4. Poke 3 defeats poke 4. The battle is over.
Poke 1 gained 3 levels because it defeated one opponent.
Poke 2 gained 1 level because it fainted before it could defeat anyone.
Poke 3 gained 5 levels because it defeated two opponents. 3 for the first, 2 for the second.
Poke 4 gained 1 level because it fainted before it could defeat anyone.
IN A WILD POKEMON BATTLE, you gain 1 level if you choose to knock out the wild.
EVOLUTION
Most evolutions happen on whatever level they usually evolve on, or you can wait for however long you want to let them evolve after they achieve that level. Special evolutions happen as follows:
FRIENDSHIP: The pokemon can evolve after 25 posts with it in its current state.
LOCATION: Eevee's evolve into leafeons in the forest and glacions in the cave. Magneton and nosepass evolve in the broken lighthouse. All evolve at level 15.
HOLDING AN ITEM: Pokemon that need to hold an item still need to hold that item, which can be bought at the shops.
TYROGUE: You choose!
WURMPLE: You choose!
MANTYKE: Evolves at level 35, no need for remoraid.
